Five Years of Investment Assistance for Members

The Heartland Agdeavor Association was organized in September 2001. Since then, it has analyzed well over 100 investment opportunities for its members. Only nine of those investment opportunities made it through HAA’s screening process for investment consideration by the HAA members. Following is a summary of the 10 member investments.

Golden Oval Eggs (GOE) was the first investment opportunity presented to Heartland members. GOE produces liquid eggs for commercial and government use. The company has facilities in Minnesota and Iowa. They continue to explore innovative ways to move eggs from a commodity based market to a value-added market.

Share Value: 260% increase in appreciation over 54 months

Heartland formed a company, KAAPA Ethanol Ohio, LLC, to assist member investment in the Kearny Area Agricultural Producers Association (KAAPA) ethanol plant in Minden, Nebraska. The plant produces over 50 million gallons of ethanol per year. HAA members have realized $735,620 in 54 months for their $198,000 investment.

Big River Resources (BRR) is an ethanol plant producing 40 million gallons of ethanol yearly. Heartland members have realized $326,784 on their $250,000 investment in 42 months.

SoyLink manufactures organic, conventional and customized fine soy powder that can be used to produce various soybean-based foods for human consumption. To date Soylink has operated at a loss because of slow demand for fine mesh soy powder.

Initial Member Investment Level: $768,000
Annual Returns: Company dissolved
Share Value: 100% of investment returned to members

Heartland Agdeavor formed a company, United Agdeavor Renewable Energy, LLC (ARE) , to assist member investment in Northwest Ethanol, LLC in Sherwood, Ohio. ARE did successfully break escrow but the ethanol plant construction never began. All investments were returned to the original investors in full.

Good View, LLC was formed for investment in Brazilian frontier land that has a potential for value appreciation as commercial agriculture develops in Brazil. Good View is also considering agricultural operations on their property that will add to the value of their land. Good View purchased 25,555 acres in northern Brazil. Good View has not experienced any returns to date.

Heartland formed a company, United Agri-Energy Group, LLC, to assist member investment in the East Kansas Agri-Energy Group, LLC (EKAE) ethanol plant in Garnett, Kansas. The plant produces 35 million gallons of ethanol per year. HAA members have realized $1,134,939 (98%) in 21 months for their $1,150,000 investment.

Coshocton Grain, LLC

Annual returns: No returns to date
Share Value: No share value has been established

Coshocton Grain, LLC is a company to pool funds and invest in ethanol production. Coshocton broke escrow in late 2005. They invested in Farmers Ethanol, LLC. No returns have been obtained to date because the ethanol plant is under construction.

Heartland Agdeavor formed a company, Agdeavor Ethanol Investments, LLC (AEI), to assist members in investing in multiple ethanol opportunities. AEI currently owns stock in publically traded ethanol companies and two ethanol plants currently under construction. The remainder of the AEI investment is being held in a liquid money market account until the board identifies additional ethanol investments.

Vertically integrate your investment in agriculture through Agdeavor Investments, LLC

Heartland Agdeavor Association has applied to become a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). This new member service, entitled Agdeavor Investments, LLC,  will be a wholly owned subsideriary of the Heartland Agdeavor Association. It will provide Heartland members ownership opportunities in the valued-added agricultural businesses between the farm gate and the end user. Investments could include food, input supply, processing, marketing, distribution, etc. businesses that utilize agricultural products in some way.

Agdeavor Investments, LLCwill establish a portfolio of liquid investments through a licensed security firm. Heartland members will have the opportunity to invest in the portfolio by using Agdeavor Investments, LLC as their Registered Investment Advisor (RIA).

We anticipate this service being available in the very near future.

Additional Future Offerings

Heartland is continually evaluating additional investment opportunities. Our goals are to;

Heartland currently is working on opportunities in renewable fuels such as wind, ethanol and biodiesel as well as renewable lubricants, biomass and solar. We also have projects in our pipeline for food processing and marketing, renewable building materials and natural rubber production to name a few.
